About
The man behind ZooTech is Brenden Hierro – a technology artist who explores interactive multimedia and visual art. He started VJing for local DJs in 2016 and continues to push the boundaries of interactive art at every opportunity. His science background comes from a Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering. Brenden’s professional experience spans many disciplines and ranges from the CFO of a startup, the manager of a large cryptocurrency mine, a process engineer, and a sushi chef. He currently sits on the board of directors for the 501(c)(3) Starlight Reunion and spends a lot of time interacting with artists in the electronic music scene around Montana.
Growing up in Missoula Montana and along side the internet, he played the surrealist fantasy landscape game Myst on a Windows 95 Packard Bell PC at age nine. As an early teen he was fascinated with computer generated graphics, video games, and flash animations that were prevalent during the early days of dial-up internet. The internet had a profound impact on his early life and it continues to be a tremendous influence, serving as a conduit for new ideas and artistic connection.
Brenden’s deep appreciation for art comes from attending transformational music festivals in the Northwestern United States. The music, visual art, and electric energy of small outdoor music festivals fueled his obsession for art and technology. The overlap between art and technology is the space he occupies, and the space that ZooTech thrives.
